These authentic beads are made by traditional artisans in a manner similar to the famed turquoise tiles that are characteristic of many ancient structures certain parts of Asia. The beads derive their name from the fact that they were sometimes used to to adorn the pack animals of nomadic people and were subsequently popularized during the 1960s and 1970s when they became fashionable in hippie culture. Although these beads are in good condition, they are authentic vintage beads from a private collection that is over 40 years old. These beads are handmade and will have some imperfections.
